Domain Aliasing

You can create a domain alias for the 123FormBuilder domain URL, if you are a Professional user or higher. It’s commonly referred to as domain aliasing (or domain mapping). This way, the form link you share with users will contain your own domain name and no reference to 123FormBuilder. In order to set up a domain alias, you need to create a subdomain on your own domain and to add a new CNAME record to your DNS.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to create and enable a domain alias:

      • Create a subdomain on your domain, e.g. forms.mydomain.com.
      • Add a new CNAME record to your server DNS. The change normally takes effect in several days.

For example:
feedback.mydomain.com. CNAME forms.123formbuilder.com.

(Please copy the line above exactly as it is, with all of the dots. Replace only feedback.mydomain.com with your own subdomain. Your CNAME record will point to forms.123formbuilder.com)

  • Once your subdomain is configured, go to your 123FormBuilder Publish section and tick the checkbox Enabled in the Use Your Domain subsection.
  • In the domain mapping customization lightbox, type the subdomain that you will use as an alias, the one set up at the previous steps. Press Save.

Domain AliasingThe subdomain is now active. The form URL has been replaced with the alias in all of the publishing options and it is secured. Copy/paste the form code normally. Your subdomain will be used instead of our domain name from now on. Also, the sender of the email notifications will be changed from noreply@123formbuilder.com to noreply@yoursubdomain.com.

After adding the subdomain to your form, you can opt for our Secured SSL feature. This combination requires a special procedure on our side. More details you can find in this article: https://wix.123formbuilder.com/docs/do-domain-aliasing-and-ssl-encryption-work-together/

*Important Note CNAME records require time to propagate. The propagation time depends on your hosting service. It can take up to 2 days.

  1. Where is the “Get code & publish” section on 123FormBuilder? I am a Platinum user, and am not finding that on my dashboard or in any of my forms

    1. Hello Bob,
In your account, in My Forms section right next to the Dashboard, when you click Edit on any form you want to publish, the editor opens up and you have 5 sections in the top left corner: Edit, Settings, Publish, Submissions, Reports.
In the Publish section you can find the code and use it to publish your forms on your web site.
If you need further assistance on this matter please contact us at support@123formbuilder.com.

  2. HI,
My domain aliasing doesn’t seem to be working. It has been over 48 hours. I have triple checked everything, and it is all the same. I set the CNAME record up for feedback.thesavingscentre.com.au and 123formbuilder.com and I have copied the feedback.thesavingscentre.com.au into the Domain Aliasing section of 123 forms. What am I doing wrong?
