How to add web forms to iWeb webpages?

Did you know that the 123FormBuilder online form builder can be used to create web forms for your iWeb website? Follow this guide to find out more.

Note: In creating this documentation, we have used iWeb 9 (without the updates).

Adding web forms to a iWeb webpage is more simple than you think. We usually recommend the JavaScript code to be used when publishing a form in a webpage. When updated in 123FormBuilder, the form’s changes are automatically applied on the webpage. Unfortunately, not all iWeb versions accept JavaScript codes (especially if they are complex), therefore any of the three embed options we provide are good to use.

Here’s how you can add web forms to your iWeb webpages:

1. In your 123FormBuilder account, go to the Get Code & PublishEmbed Code section of your form and copy one of the three codes we provide in this section (JavaScript, Iframe or Inline HTML).

Now, access the editor of your website’s page where you want to add your web form. Look for the tab Widgets in the toolbar on the right side of the page.

Select HTML Snippet and drag it on the page. Double-click it to open its editor and paste the embed code there. Hit Apply and exit the lightbox by pressing x.

If your version accepts the code, the form will be automatically displayed on the webpage in the editor. If not, you can first check if it’s visible when published (locally or on a server) or use one of the other remaining options. You might need to resize the widget so that the entire web form is visible. Once you are finished, publish your site and you can start receiving form submissions from your iWeb website. All submissions will be stored in your 123FormBuilder account, in the Submissions section of your form.
