How to customize the digital signature box?

To customize the digital signature box on your form, you’ll need to use Inspect Element in your browser to locate its ID. This means you’ll need to open the form in view mode and right-click the digital signature box. Next, hit Inspect element.

Depending on what you want to do with the signature box, you need to grab different IDs. If you want to change the white colored background of the signature box, copy the ID from the canvas tag, as seen below:

If you want to remove the borders of the signature box, copy the ID from the div tag. See this example:

You can also style the clear link that appears on the bottom right side of the signature box whenever the form visitors provide a signature. By using the inspect element option again, copy the ID from the highlighted line in the developer tools window.

Next, go to the Themes section of your form and hit use custom CSS. In the custom CSS lightbox, paste the ID and provide the styles that you want.

If you are new to CSS, you can follow any of our examples below, copy the codes and replace where necessary with your input.

Example 1. This code replaces the white colored background of the signature box with an image from an URL:

#id123-control-11576569 {background: url('https://something123.com/image123.png');}

  • Replace id123-control-11576569 with your ID from the canvas tag and the URL with the one of an image from the Web. The results will display that respective image in the background of the signature box.

#id123-div-11576569 {border-bottom: 0px !important;
border-top: 0px !important;
