The form is not configured correctly – the form submitter did not enter a valid email. What to do?

There are three possible scenarios that have triggered this error:

1. You have enabled the autoresponder feature, but you haven’t assigned the email field in the right place. Go to the SettingsNotificationsForm User (Sender) Options section of your form and make sure the email field is assigned correctly in To, under Autoresponder.

2. You have enabled the autoresponder feature, but your email field is not required, allowing your form users to skip it. Return to the Form Editor section of your form and set the email field as required to prevent this from happening again.

3. You have enabled the Send a copy of the completed form to the sender feature, but you haven’t assigned the email field from the dropdown list. Go to NotificationsForm User (Sender) Options and make sure the email field is assigned under Submission Copy.

  1. I don’t know whether it’s just me or if perhaps everybody else encountering problems with your site.
It appears as though some of the text on your content are running off
the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them as well?
This might be a problem with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
    Many thanks

    1. Hello! Did you tried to clear your cache and cookies from your browser as far as possible? If this persists, feel free to contact our Customer Care team directly from you account. They will be more than happy to help you solve this.

  2. I am getting this error message when trying to save the notification settings in a form.
ERROR Please enter a valid submission copy email!
The submission copy email is fine – very confused please help

    1. Hi Paul! Could you check if in Settings – Notifications – Form Owner tab – Email Header and Content – From Email the noreply@123formbuilder.com option is selected? You might have the From Email – Email option enabled and it gives error when there is no email input in the submission entry.

Hope the above helps, but contact our Customer Care team if you’re still having any difficulties.

  3. I’ve most definitely had people enter invalid email addresses. they type gmial instead of gmail etc. as long as they have xxxxx@xxx.XX it will accept it. How do I place a second “retype your email” validation field that will compare the first to the second to avoid spelling errors?

    1. Hello Debra,
To add more certainty that your users fill in the right Email Address you can place 2 Email Address fields instead of one and select the option in the first email to Match another field value. You link the first email with the second one and if the information typed in the first one is different from the second one than a error message will appear.
Unfortunately, the validation of an Email field requires the user to type an address of the form test@test.com and does not have the ability to detect if it is a valid email or not. If you have more questions, please contact our support team at support@123formbuilder.com.
